Fall Allergies are Probably Mold Related

People often are worried about mold growing within their home and their is some merit to their worry. Mold, like any plant, spread their seeds through the air, by ingestion, or from being carried. These seeds, known as spores, are microscopic which can be inhaled easily through the nose or mouth. Just as people have spring allergies from pollen some people have fall allergies from mold.

In the spring flowers and plants are alive and growing culminating in pollenating to create more plants the next year.

In the fall when all the plants are dying mold will begin to grow. Mold, mildew, and fungus are all saprophytes helping to break down the decaying plants. Mold too will die but only after it has released thousands of spores into the air. And if you are allergic to mold your allergies will be a problem in the fall.

Keep in mind if you have allergies in the fall as it will indicate if you might be allergic to mold spores.
